We all have these big dreams for our lives. We all do it, besides what’s the point in having dreams if they don’t terrify and excite you? But what happens when your dreams of making a big difference or living a life of excited seem to slip to the back of your mind? Suddenly things like making rent and paying bills start to take over. Next thing you know you get up every day with the same routine of just getting by, no longer working to live but living to work.
If You Have Dreams, Here’s What To Do To Achieve Them - While Still Doing It All!
We have more options now than ever before. Countless choices in regards to education, work and travel. Evidently leading to more “potential” for our futures than generations before us. We’re told from day one that the world is our oyster. Its true there is boundless possibilities out there for us. But drowning in options can be as restraining as having only a few. So what do we do we feel like doing nothing with our lives, while simultaneously doing everything? All these choices may as well be the never-ending cereal aisle that becomes impossible to leave? What do we do then?
If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, doing nothing, going nowhere, you can either moan or complain about the life that you have or you can say enough is enough. If you’re overwhelmed with your plans for the future, let alone your day-to-day activities. Take a step back and remember how lucky you are in the first place to have this problem. If having too much to do, and too many options is your struggle, then it’s a great struggle to have. Not to belittle it in any way, but we must take a deep breath and realise with a clear mind anything is possible. If you want to do something big, first you have to make the small changes.
How can you Achieve Your Goals & not comprimising your busy lifestyle
How do I strive toward my goals while working a full-time job, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, travelling and making time for friends?
The answer? Balance and organisation. Although I’m fairly sure I’ll never get this perfect ‘balance’ people say exist. I seem to get weeks where I’m on cloud nine, hitting milestones with my fitness, finishing a week’s worth of work in a day and still having some time to work on me and my goals. I won’t lie, some weeks though I work ridiculous hours and still can’t seem to do anything right, I feel demotivated and sluggish and might not wash my hair at all.
One thing I do try do is never take anything for granted. I understand how fortunate I am, to be healthy, to enjoy the job I do each day, and look forward to getting up each morning and jumping straight into my to do-list. But like everyone I often feel that pressure to be “doing it all”. Although I’m only 23, there’s that constant worry am I doing enough? Should I be saving for a mortgage, or should I be spending my 20’s travelling? We’re all guilty of stalking those people on social media who seems to have it all. I’m relentless for it, sometimes I really do need to separate myself from my phone, come back to reality and understand comparing my life to others is literally the WORST thing I could do.
The only thing each of us should be worried about is figuring out what we want and working to take control of our own lives. It’s unrealistic to think we’ll figure it out all at once, but eventually it will happen. I’ve started realising that life is never going to be perfect, or turn out exactly how I imagined, but I figure I owe it to myself to try make the most of it.
