Paris, France

France is a country of elegance and sophistication, but Paris is the country's real attraction for most tourists. Known as the City of Light, Paris exudes romance and beauty in every step of the city. I have yet to hear of one single person who wasn't blown away by the beauty of Paris. Roughly 18 million people visit Paris every year, making it one of the world's most popular choices...for good reason; whether you spend your days strolling the many art & history museums at offer, tasting the delicious wine in numerous high-rated restaurants or spending your hard earned cash among The Champs-Élysées. You can find it all and more in Paris.

I was lucky enough to visit the gorgeous city at the end of February this year. I walked around like the biggest fool, with my mouth wide open the entire time. I just couldn't get over it all, by far my favourite place I've ever visited. My boyfriend booked the trip as my Christmas present and I honestly couldn't have asked for anything better! From the moment we landed, I felt like I was encompassed by a completely relaxed and chilled atmosphere, everywhere I turned cafés were filled with people just chilling out, enjoying a coffee, watching the world go by without a care in the world.
Where to Stay
We stayed in a gorgeous boutique hotel called Fred Hotel on the Montparnasse Avenue. It was everything we needed and such an affordable price too. You can also get 10% off by booking on the website directly too!
The location was great as it was directly across from the Metro, with so many cafés around for a morning coffee and croissant. If you do choose to have breakfast in the hotel, they offer a buffet style breakfast every morning for €12 per person with a choice of breads and pastries, a variety of cheeses, cold meats, yoghurt, fruit salad or freshly squeezed juices. or if you prefer there is a selection of cereals and eggs too!
Things to Do
Musée du Louvre
Well obviously this should be on everyone's list of things to see/do in Paris. My advise? Give yourself an entire day to explore it, you sill won't get to experience it all but at least it's a start. Another tip, go straight to the Mona Lisa and work from there. We got our timing messed up and had only seen a tiny part of the artwork when we heard the museum would close in 10 minutes, and let me tell you know ten minutes is not enough to find the Mona Lisa. We were asked to leave.

Besides the point, the Louvre has so many amazing pieces from Egyptian to Greek antiquities; it's like travelling through time. With masterpieces by the greats like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Rembrandt. Make sure to visit it, you will certainly regret it if you don't
Eiffel Tower
I was actually blown away when we visited the Eiffel Tower. To be honest, I thought it would be hyped up but when I was standing in front of it with the lights shining it was honestly the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Would you believe too that all 324m of the Eiffel Tower was only constructed by Gustave Eiffel for a World fair as a temporary exhibit? Crazy! But who could blame anybody for not wanted to see Paris without it.

We climbed the whole way to the top on our first night and it was just so incredible, the view from the top left a smile on my face for days.
Arc de Triomphe
We made our way to the Arc on our last day. Another incredibly beautiful place in Paris. One thing I will say is if you are climbing to the top, which I seriously recommend...wear comfortable shoes the height is misleading and the stairs are windy.
The Arc is located at the center of the crazy Étoile roundabout, it did take us a few moments to realise we were not meant to cross the road but go underground to the Arc, which would be obvious to anyone else probably. From the top you can actually see the whole of Paris, and the Eiffel Tower again.
Zoo
We love the zoo, I think it's always such a good day out. The Parc Zoologique de Paris was huge with so much for us to see. It would be such a good day out if you had kids to entertain too!

The Zoo offer things like workshops and birthday parties for kids which is so cool. While also offering up close interactions with certain animals, or even breakfast with the giraffes.
Jardin De Couronnes
We genuinely stumbled across this garden on our adventures. I was passing it off because I was too exhausted to even think, but Adam spotted it so we went to see what exactly was there. The gardens were just so insanely beautiful and if you walk to the top you wont believe the view in front of your eyes.

Hope you enjoyed this post,
Char
