A Meal for the WHOLE Family

Loko Waterford – Waterford’s Pet-Friendly Restaurant

Loko is like a breath of fresh air to the city, completely different than anything else Waterford has to offer. Located in the Ardkeen centre on the Dunmore Road. The funky yet chill vibe exudes a unique atmosphere. You’ll feel completely at ease the second you enter those doors. The bright and colourful décor is extremely welcoming and suits the establishment beautifully with its chilled casual setting. My favourite thing about this restaurant is definitely the atmosphere they staff have created. It’s clear they work hard to provide high quality produce with a quirky touch.

A lot of what you’ll see on the menu is more creative than what we’re used to here in Waterford. It always remind me of something I would find travelling more so. From their various creations on Taco Tuesdays to cleverly concocted cocktails to make your own S’mores. Personally, I think Loko is great for finding niches in our local food market and satisfying all the options not provided to us elsewhere.

Another draw to this restaurant is it’s accessibility. You could enjoy a meal here at any time of the day, opening from 11a.m. serving all the way till late close, with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Loko is very proud of their locally sourced plates, offering all sorts of local fish, meats etc. They have so many options for you to enjoy, whether you’re on a quick lunch break from work or enjoying a couple cocktails with your mates. Their cocktails are fantastic if you ask me and they have a great range from…the Basic Bitch with Gunpowder Irish Gin/ Elderflower/ Lemon & Soda to the Loko Motive with Tequila/ Orange/ Mango/ Coconut & Lime. That one to me screams summertime.

Similarly, Loko is the first restaurant I’ve been in anyway, that is pet-friendly. You ca literally bring your entire family out for dinner and not leave your little fur babies at home! They offer high quality meals for your pets and even some PAWsecco –get it? So they can have the complete experience too. However, if this is not your cup of tea, don’t fret. The staff have carefully set up the building, and used its large space so efficiently, so that pet-bringers/ pet-lovers may dine on the bottom floor, while the other two floors are pet-free. Everyone can be happy.

If all this doesn’t have you ringing for a reservation right now, they are also reasonably priced, you can order sides for as little as €3, desserts from €5 with mains from €13. All in all a meal for two could work out under €50, depending on what you order.
